Strollers are allowed on any race course; however, you must provide your own transportation to the start line. There just isn't enough room on the buses for strollers.
Sorry no dogs on any race course; our insurance won't allow it.
Walkers are welcome in all events.
All racers must be off all race courses by 2:00 pm.

The 5K starts on Gregg Drive out near the Rodeo Grounds. The first 1.3 miles follows this wide dirt road until is merges with CR Road 306. ACR Volunteer Safety Flaggers will help you cross CR 306 (watch for cars and listen to their instructions). When you hit CR 306 run on the left side of the road until you reach the park. Buses transport runners to start. Buses leave at 9:40am. Race starts at 10 am.
The 10K starts and finishes in McPhelemy Park. This course starts out with a gentle incline as you run up Crossman Ave. What goes up must come down; the good news is that the slight gradual uphill is over after the first third of the race, then a mostly flat with a few slight ups and downs for the middle third, then a slight and continuous decent into town and the finish line. Cheerily staffed and well stocked aid stations will keep you going to the finish. We walk to the starting line from the registration pavilion in McPhelemy Park. The 10K starts at 9 am.
The Half Marathon starts west of town above Cottonwood Lake and winds it’s way into town through a peaking aspen grove. Run along Cottonwood Lake and follow dirt forest service and county roads, then on paved county roads for the final stretch. The course follows approximately 9 miles of dirt roads and 4 miles of pavement. ACR Volunteer Safety Flaggers will help you cross CR 306 (watch for cars and listen to their instructions). The course drops about 1,500 feet to an elevation of 8,000 feet in the town of Buena Vista. While the elevation does drop steadily along the course it’s not all downhill. Buses transport runners to the start of the race. Spectators and photographers should park at the Cottonwood Lake parking lot. The views and photographs from along the lake will be amazing. Buses leave the park at 8:15 am. The Half Marathon starts at 9 am; cut off time is 2 pm.
